When fake news is used by Western countries

Is Vladimir Putin undermining our democracy? Did Bashar Al-Assad use chemical weapons against his own people? Do jihadists hate us for what we are rather than for what we do? Did the genocide in Darfur claim 400,000 lives? The simple answer to these questions (and many more like it) is, “No.” It’s all fake news. But over the past thirty years, Western governments have said otherwise and therefore have happily spent blood and treasure righting fake wrongs. Why is that? Why has the West orchestrated its various recent conflicts by way of fake news? This book is a no-holds-barred call to action to return truth to Western foreign diplomacy and policy.
Colonel Jacques Baud is a chemical and nuclear weapons expert, who is trained in counter-terrorism and counter-guerrilla warfare. He planned the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) and the Information Management System for Mine Action (IMSMA). While serving in the United Nations, he was Chief of Doctrine for Peacekeeping Operations in New York, and he worked extensively in Africa. In NATO, he led the fight against small arms proliferation. He is the author of several books on intelligence, asymmetric warfare and terrorism.
